Student Artist Poster Contest Winners

The three poster contest winners (foreground on easels) in each age group on display at the Bridgehouse Museum, and the poster contest honorable mentions displayed prominently on a wall (background).

In the spring, the Chicago River Day 30th Anniversary poster contest challenged students in the Chicago River Schools Network to create a poster to raise awareness about pollution and its impact on the Chicago-Calumet River system. The contest, sponsored by Waste Management’s Think Green® program, asked students to answer the question, “How can recycling help our river’s wildlife?” Students between the ages of eight and 18, created artwork with a message that are mean to inspire people to reduce litter and protect wildlife.

The students participating in the contest were separated into three groups based on their age. One winner was selected from each group.
