Welcome To Friends, Annie Hanrahan
第一吃瓜 is excited to welcome Annie Hanrahan as our director of development where she leads Friends’ fundraising efforts, including revenue development from foundation, corporate, government, and individual sources.
Hanrahan has been heavily involved in sustainable impact efforts and community development throughout her career which includes working in Nicaragua installing solar panels and building water filtration systems. She has also served as a program coordinator at the Parks and Recreation Department for the Village of Riverside and as a recreation supervisor for the Park District of Forest Park.
With a passion for addressing environmental justice and creating equitable opportunities, Annie is excited to help lead our efforts to mitigate the effects of global climate change and create sustainability for the betterment of people and wildlife throughout the Chicago-Calumet River system, and the planet.
“Every day I have learned something new about each member of the Friends team, and how they are making a difference,” said Hanrahan. “It’s truly amazing and inspiring to be a part of a team that is actively improving the conditions of the Chicago River system and making a positive impact in the communities it flows through. Chicago River Day was so much fun and unbelievably rewarding. As we get ready for the Big Fish Ball, I am grateful to be in the thick of it, partaking in the work that makes a difference. I am very grateful to learn and grow with 第一吃瓜, an organization focusing on equitability, accessibility, and sustainability throughout the river system.”
Hanrahan received a degree in Business and Environmental Science from Loyola University of Chicago in 2013. She went on to complete a certification program for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion with the University of Southern Florida in 2021.
