Specifically, the Lake County Forest Preserve District will ask voters for approval to borrow $155 million for land acquisition, public access, and habitat restoration. If the proposition passes, the Lake County Forest Preserves will also be able to access state and federal matching funds and grants to preserve Lake County’s last remaining natural areas for future generations.

A comprehensive list of projects has been created to ensure all areas of Lake County benefit from the funds. Nearly $90 million would be directed to public access and habitat restoration and $65 million to land preservation and acquisition.

For an average Lake County home, the proposition would cost less than $3 a month - a small price to pay to protect our clean air and water, and preserve and improve the natural landscapes we love.
