Thornwood High School, located in South Holland, is one of the two newest schools to join Friends’ Adopt A River Schools program, which is part of our Chicago River Schools Network.

Join us to cheer on our 10 Chicago Marathon runners on Saturday, October 13 as they run the 26.2-mile course to raise funds to support our work to restore and protect the Chicago-Calumet River system for all people, water, and wildlife.

Fall Bridge Lift Viewing Dates are on Saturdays through November 2 and on Wednesdays through October 23. Saturday lifts are typically around 10 a.m. and Wednesday lifts around 9:30 a.m.

Just as ecosystem health is strengthened with biodiversity, a wide-spanning diversity of voices is necessary to create a resilient Chicago-Calumet River watershed.

The proposition will help to protect water quality in Lake County communities, keep drinking water safe, and help stabilize the county's water supply.
